Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the Squishy Chrome extension, Squishy apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android, optional account sync and shared Squishy features, and squishyapp.com. By installing or using Squishy, creating an account, joining a shared Squishy, or purchasing Squishy Pro, you agree to these terms.
The product
Squishy is a digital-wellbeing companion that can block selected apps and sites, run focus and recovery sessions, count steps during a Walk, verify scavenger-hunt photos during Show, and reflect those actions through a virtual pet's happiness. You can use Squishy on your own or share one pet with another person.
Squishy is a behavior and productivity tool, not a medical device or healthcare service. It does not provide medical, mental-health, fitness, or safety advice, and it does not guarantee a particular health or productivity outcome.
Your license to use Squishy
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Squishy on devices you control. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, copy, modify, reverse-engineer, interfere with, or misuse Squishy except where applicable law expressly allows it.
Accounts and shared Squishy
Account sync uses an email sign-in code. You are responsible for using an email address you control and for activity performed through your account or linked devices.
You may invite one other person to a shared Squishy using an invite code. Only send a code to someone you intend to share with. A shared member can see your display name, general activity types, shared happiness, and contribution changes. They do not receive the identity of your blocked apps or sites or your Show photos. You are responsible for choosing a sharing partner you trust.
Either member may unlink according to the controls available in the app. The owner may remove the other member. Invite codes may rotate or expire. If one member deletes their account or leaves, the shared pet and its history may remain with the other active member.
Blocking and device permissions
Blocking depends on operating-system and browser features, permissions, background execution, device settings, and third-party behavior. Apple Screen Time, Android Accessibility, and Chrome extension APIs can change or occasionally fail. Squishy cannot guarantee that every app, site, link, notification, widget, browser, device, or operating-system version will always be blocked.
You choose which apps, categories, or sites to restrict and when. Do not rely on Squishy for emergencies, legal compliance, child safety, workplace enforcement, or any situation where a missed or incorrect block could cause harm.
Heal activities
Focus with Squishy
Focus rewards depend on the completed session length and Squishy's current happiness. Ending early may produce no reward. Timers may be affected by force-quitting, clock changes, device restarts, or operating-system restrictions.
Walk with Squishy
Walk requires Motion & Fitness or Physical Activity permission and a supported phone step counter. Sensor readings can be delayed or inaccurate, and Squishy does not guarantee exact step counts. Rewards use completed step thresholds and do not round partial thresholds up. Walk is not currently available on iPad or Android tablets.
Use Walk safely. Pay attention to traffic, terrain, weather, and your surroundings. Do not interact with the app while doing so would be unsafe.
Show Squishy something
Show requires a supported camera, network connection, and eligible access. A temporary photo is checked by an AI vision service against a Squishy prompt. The model can incorrectly accept or reject a photo. Daily reward and attempt limits may apply, and we may change prompts, limits, models, or rewards to protect the service and improve the feature.
Only photograph content you have the right to capture and submit. Do not submit illegal, harmful, sexually explicit, exploitative, violent, hateful, or privacy-invasive content; sensitive documents or credentials; or identifiable people without their permission. Never use Show in a way that puts you or anyone else at risk. We may reject submissions or suspend access when necessary to protect users or the service.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Squishy may send local or push messages related to recovery completion, low happiness, trials, subscriptions, partner activity, or features that must remain active, such as Android walk tracking. Partner messages may identify your partner by their chosen display name and report a general happiness contribution or threshold, but not the specific blocked app, site, Show prompt, or Show photo behind it. Delivery is not guaranteed and may be delayed, grouped, suppressed, or disabled by your device or a provider. You can change notification choices in Squishy and your device settings, subject to required foreground-service notices on Android.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple App Store
Squishy Pro on Apple devices is an auto-renewing subscription processed by Apple. If a free trial or offer is available, the price, duration, eligibility, and renewal terms are shown before purchase. A trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel within Apple's required period. Manage or cancel in your Apple subscription settings. Apple handles App Store refunds.
Google Play
Squishy Pro on Android is an auto-renewing subscription processed by Google Play. If a free trial or offer is available, the price, duration, eligibility, and renewal terms are shown before purchase. A trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Manage or cancel through Google Play. Google handles Play Store refunds under its policies.
Chrome
Chrome may be used in a free mode. Eligible paid access may come from a synced mobile entitlement or a direct Chrome license if offered. Direct Chrome purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which handles payment, tax, receipts, license keys, and refunds. Direct licenses may have a device or browser activation limit.
Entitlements
Squishy uses RevenueCat and store records to confirm paid access. For some features, Squishy may verify a signed Apple transaction or Google Play purchase token directly through its secure backend and the applicable store. An active eligible subscription may unlock supported features across signed-in devices and cover the person currently joined to your shared Squishy. If a subscription or purchase expires, is cancelled, refunded, revoked, or cannot be verified, paid access may end or return to the free tier. Deleting an account or app does not cancel a subscription.
Sync and data
After linking, supported Squishy state can sync among iPhone, iPad, Android, and Chrome. Platform-specific settings—such as Chrome block lists, Apple Screen Time selections, Android selected apps and schedules, and temporary unblock state—remain device-specific. Sync may be delayed, unavailable, or require conflict resolution.
You may disconnect a device without deleting the account. Account deletion removes your account-owned server data but does not cancel purchases, automatically erase local data on every device, or necessarily delete a shared pet retained by the other active member. See the Privacy Policy and account-deletion page.
Acceptable use
Do not use Squishy to:
- break the law, harm another person, invade privacy, or infringe intellectual-property rights;
- access another person's account, device, invite code, subscription, or data without permission;
- upload prohibited images or attempt to manipulate Show verification, rewards, quotas, purchase checks, or shared activity;
- probe, overload, automate abusive requests to, bypass, or interfere with Squishy or its service providers; or
- redistribute or commercially exploit Squishy without written permission.
Service availability and changes
We do not guarantee that Squishy will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, sensor, camera, or operating-system version. Purchases, sync, email, notifications, analytics, and Show verification rely on services operated by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Supabase, Resend, Lemon Squeezy, PostHog, OneSignal, OpenRouter, and model providers. Their outages or changes may delay or disable related features.
We may update Squishy, fix or remove features, change prompts or reward rules, limit abusive or unusually costly use, or adjust free and paid offerings. We will provide reasonable notice when required for material changes.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Squishy is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow every disclaimer, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blank Slate Apps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, lost profits, missed blocks, inaccurate steps or AI results, or disputes between shared members arising from your use of Squishy. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for Squishy during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Ending access
You may stop using Squishy at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations of these terms, fraudulent purchases, service abuse, security risks, or legal requirements. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including purchase obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, and acceptable-use enforcement—will survive.
Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we will revise the date above and provide reasonable notice of material changes where required. Continuing to use Squishy after updated terms take effect means you accept them.
